There are few better places to relax and connect with friends than at Castle Hot Springs, ranked the best resort in Arizona by Travel + Leisure. From the famed, mineral-rich hot springs to yoga, wine tasting and farm-to-fork dining, this luxurious desert oasis is the ideal place for a girls’ weekend.
Relaxation
A range of wellness spa services awaits at Castle Hot Springs. Treatments are provided in custom cabanas along the spring water creek and under a grouping of towering palm trees. Talented therapists and wellness experts provide a range of healing services to guests. You can even request a customized massage tailored to your exact needs. The Castle Signature massage is a favorite among guests with many enhancements to choose from such as Reflexology, Hypervolt, or a Shiradhara scalp treatment. Add CBD oil or balm which is said to have natural anti-inflammatory effects or the Nano Gold collagen mask designed to help repair, firm and tone your skin.
The massage therapists recommend a soak in the hot springs before your treatment to help loosen and relax your muscles. The mineral-rich hot springs are also known to improve circulation, promote deeper sleep and reduce stress.
Adventures
You simply can’t visit Arizona without experiencing the beautiful outdoors. Castle Hot Springs has a multitude of activities for you to experience during your weekend with the girls. Apart from the incredible natural hot springs, Castle Hot Springs has an adrenaline-pumping Via Ferrata adventure course that will allow you to see the stunning Sonoran Desert from new heights. Hike past Saguaro cactus, journey across a 200-foot aerial walkway above the canyon floor and ascend to dizzying heights on Arizona’s only cable-assisted climbing route. Not for the casual hiker and remember to bring your sturdy hiking shoes for this physically challenging adventure.
The surrounding Bradshaw Mountains also provide many other hiking trails to accommodate all skill levels. You may catch a look at local wildlife and will enjoy unique cacti, wildflowers and expansive vistas. The resort offers daily guided hikes and can also provide maps and recommendations if you prefer to go on your own.
Come back from time on the trails to a soothing soak in the mineral rich hot springs. Be sure to sign up for the farm to bar Mixology 101 class taught by our own bartenders and farmers, or have fun learning from one of our sommeliers in a wine tasting class. Mindfulness craft activities are also available throughout the week to help you find your center. Above all, just enjoy each other’s company, sitting around one of the resort firepits, catching up on old times.
Farm Tours & Custom Dining
The resort’s three-acre farm provides the majority of the fresh veggies and herbs that the chefs use at Harvest and Bar 1896. Castle Hot Springs has an entire team of farmers that grow more than 300 crops throughout the year. Often filled with tomatoes, a flower garden and herb garden, there is also a green house. The farm tour will teach you about sustainable growing methods and give you new ideas for dishes at home.
Meals are included so indulge your evenings with a five-course tasting menu. The chefs are happy to help with special requests. You may see the chefs’ outdoor kitchen area with a rotisserie pit, smoker and pizza oven. Chefs use these tools to make roasted vegetables, fish and the resort’s famed homemade naan bread.
As this is a girls’ weekend, feel free to let your hair down and imbibe at Bar 1896. Castle Hot Springs has an impressive team of mixologists that employ fresh herbs from the farm to create custom cocktails. The selection of crops is constantly inspiring new drink ideas. The resort has its very own Lithium Lager, brewed with water from the hot springs that deserves a try. Or, have the sommelier recommend a beautiful bottle of wine and create memories that will last long after check-out.
Cheers to that!
